Hows Your Attitude?

A Key Ingredient.

How many of us actually look at our attitude’s during the day? When we think of leadership and someone who we admire in some sort of way. What is a common thing that we admire about them? Really think about it! I’ll bet a common thing between everyone you just thought of, was their attitude. Are they someone who had an attitude of being savage in life and battling thru life demonstrating commitment? Do they see possibilities when other people may not? Maybe even someone inspirational. Attitude plays a big role in so many different avenues of our life.

Your attitude can be contagious. You may not care. But you should. Why? Well for example. When your working and your interacting with a client or customer. Is it not a more easy and enjoyable experience then dealing with someone who has a short, miserable or negative attitude? I think we can all agree on the better option. Your attitude can change the other persons attitude dependent on how yours is. What kind of atmosphere do you want to create?

Whatever It Takes..

You want to lead your life? A winners mindset has to be whatever it takes attitude. There are a few traits that I feel should be discussed within the “whatever it takes” attitude.

  • The need to eliminate helplessness. Having a whatever it takes attitude involves aggressively pursuing solutions. They aren’t someone who lets the situation dictate their outcome or attitude moving forward still. They don’t have a victim mentality. A victim is someone who thinks the outcome is based on the actions of others. Being with someone who plays victim can be draining too! I love the quote from John F. Kennedy ” Ask not what your country can do for you! But what you can do for your country”.

  • Taking Charge. They are someone who takes charge. Someone who is eager to problem solve or be proactive. Who see’s a project all the way thru. Regardless of knowing the outcome. Which I understand can seem unsettling to some. But they continue on anyways, until they fully have seen it thru. But not everything started is going to end the way we originally thought it would. So just take the bull by the horns and go! But have faith that something will come from the journey. Some questions to ask yourself to give you a better understanding moving forward is. What Do I Really Want?… What Will It Cost Me?… Am I willing To Pay The Price?… The last question though is most important because taking action is involved. When Should I Start To Pay The Price?… You have to be able to answer that question and execute.

  • No Whining. People with a whatever it takes attitude know for the most part how to handle their feelings. They put their attitude in charge, instead of their emotions. Plus like the saying goes “Nobody likes a whiner” anyways. There is a difference between someone who has a valid complaint that they come with possible solutions to discuss, and someone who anytime their not super happy. Their complaining about everything to everyone. Its ugly. Not attractive to anyone. Express gratitude thats separate from your feelings. I understand it can be hard to be happy for someone else when your going thru something or just having an off day. But What has helped me along with what I know has helped others too. I started to allow my words to lift me up. Your not wired to be two different ways. You cant be mad and happy at the same time. So verbally start to express gratitude or happiness for someone else. Separate of what your emotions are. You’ll see that you start to feel what you say.

  • They Nurture Their Passion. Usually someone with a great attitude. Has enthusiasm or energy to strive towards their goals. Thats why I always ask what their passions are? The things they want most and lets put in the work to follow them. That can create a purpose and desire to go! The sooner you can get yourself to a point to were your living life in alignment with your values and passions. The more life you can enjoy living. Have a desire to learn and evolve. Don’t settle with just being who you are now. Want to be a better you. We are all a project. See what I did their?😉

  • A relentless drive to see it thru. So that meant expect the un-expecting. They have an attitude of we got to get thru this! So lets do what we have to do to see this thru.Whats another tool to help? Knowing any potential upcoming challenges that may come up. Planning ahead for possible challenges. Can help you better navigate your way thru them. “When it comes to failing, our egos are our own worst enemies. As soon as things start to go wrong, our defense mechanisms kick in. Tempting us to try and save face”. Said Sarah Rapp a social impact startup consultant. There’s so much truth in that. Take the emotion out and let your attitude lead the way.

Conclusion.

So to wrap up. If your not happy with a certain area of your life. Then maybe an attitude shift is whats needed. Let’s go out and do our part to contribute. To lean In!
